I might be a broken record by now but I can’t but express how much the Honolulu dining scene has grown over the past few years. New and exciting restaurants, exploring new avenues of cuisine, seem to be opening at a rapid pace! Newest on the scene is the long awaited Pai Honolulu, which will grand open tonight.
Just three short weeks after dining at Senia to try its regular ala carte menu, I found myself back at the chef’s counter again, this time for the chef’s tasting menu. The tasting menu is limited to the counter (7 seats) and the booth behind. There’s but one seating a night at $185 per person plus tax and gratuity. Does this tasting menu live up to such exclusivity (limited seats) and the high price point? Yes. Yes it does.
Very few restaurants in Honolulu have been as hotly anticipated as Senia, and after months of delays, it finally opened its doors this week. Located right next door to another hot eatery, The Pig & the Lady, Senia is a joint collaboration between chefs Anthony Rush and Chris Kajioka. The two chefs met while working at Per Se in NYC and are now bringing their wealth of skill, experience, and training to Honolulu.
